High Performance Ceramic
HPC fill combines the durability of high quality ceramic materials with innovative design features to produce a high performance, vertical flow heat transfer media for use in counter-flow design cooling towers. HPC consists of individual ceramic plates which are formed into bundles using a custom designed retainer system. The ceramic plates feature scalloped top and bottom edges which reduce flow restrictions between layers. The ribbed surface pattern promotes uniform water distribution, increases water dwell time and increases airflow turbulence for effective heat transfer. HPC is durable and is ideally suited for operation with good or poor water quality and long term exposure to high and low operating temperatures. When compared to cross-corrugated PVC fill designs, HPC produces similar performance without the thermal performance degradation that is associated with fouling. Additionally, unlike PVC fill that inherently ages and breaks down over time, HPC is a ceramic material that will outlast the facility it serves. Therefore, HPC is the fill material of choice for high efficiency, low maintenance, long term operation with 100% performance capability.
